Myofunctional Therapy Programs & Investment
Every myofunctional therapy program is individualized to the patient's needs, goals and assessment findings. Because treatment needs vary from person to person, program recommendations and investment are discussed following the Comprehensive Initial Evaluation.
Comprehensive Initial Assessment
Detailed health and functional history
Orofacial muscle assessment
Tongue and lip function
Resting posture
Breathing patterns
Swallowing function
Relevant oral structures

Discussion of findings and recommendations

Myofunctional Therapy as Part of Collaborative Care
Orofacial function can be influenced by many factors, and some patients benefit from care involving multiple healthcare professionals. When appropriate, we collaborate with dentists, orthodontists, physicians, ENTs, speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists and other healthcare providers involved in a patient's care.
Will My Benefits Cover Myofunctional Therapy?
Coverage for Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy varies between insurance providers and individual plans. OMT may be eligible under certain dental, orthodontic or other extended health benefits, depending on your specific coverage. We recommend contacting your insurance provider before beginning treatment to confirm whether OMT is covered and what documentation is required.
Following your Comprehensive Initial Evaluation, we can provide appropriate documentation or a predetermination form when requested.
Ready to Find Out if Myofunctional Therapy Is Right for You?
The first step is a Comprehensive Initial Evaluation. This allows us to understand your individual needs, discuss our findings and determine whether myofunctional therapy may be appropriate.
If therapy is recommended, we will explain the program options and associated investment before you decide whether to proceed.
